On new years day the third shrine we went to was Heian Jingu. This is one of my favourite shrines in Kyoto and I been quite a few times over the years but this was by far the busiest I have ever seen it. However compared to some other shrines, such as Fushimi Inari, this isn`t very busy for new years day.
